In addition to the gun positions themselves, both emplacements on the upper level contain a powder room, one large shell room and two smaller shell rooms, an air compressor room and a small store room. Each of the small shell rooms housed 100 rounds of high explosive ammunition while the large shell room provided storage space for 400 armor piercing rounds. Interestingly, at both Battery Const. #294 and Battery Const. #293 at Caines Head, a small concrete shelter has been substituted for the typical 'Signal Corps Slab' near each of the gun positions.
