The Coast Artillery installed the base end and spotting station B 3/5 S 3/5 at Spruce Cape to serve Battery Const. #296. The single-room station was housed in a wooden building atop a 72-foot wood tower.
The military still controls the area, and the tower site it is actually bisected by a fence separating publicly accessible lands from a restricted area. |
