Home  |  Dutch Harbor

Located nearly 900 feet above the waters of Unalaska Bay, Battery Const. #402 was equipped with a pair of 8-inch navy guns on barbette carriages. The battery structure consists of two gun positions and a central magazine complex with a power plant, latrine and ammunition storage spaces.

Located near the #1 magazine entrance are two rooms which don't appear on some floor plans. One of these was used as crew quarters, while the purpose of the other is unknown.
