Deer Point, Long Island, HD Kodiak
Home  |  Kodiak

Deer Point was the site of nine major magazines, including six large Battle Allowance magazines and three smaller ones used for fuses and Anti-Aircraft (AA) ammunition. The two large magazines near the gun positions were of the "Steel Igloo" type, while two located just west of the housing area were of concrete construction. The remaining two, located even farther west, were both steel igloos.

The three smaller magazines were a smaller variety of steel igloos, and included a fuse and primer magazine near the guns and two AA magazines, one near the guns and the second just west of the housing area.

Due to heavy rain, some sites were not visited and photos are rather poor.
