MET Station
Point Curto, Long Island, HD Kodiak
Home  |  Kodiak

The Harbor Defense Meteorological (or MET) station for Kodiak was located on Point Curto, a small head of land on the northwest side of Long Island. In addition to the MET station, the military installed a number of small housing structures along the station's access road. There are also a few small wood-lined pits in the area, possibly remains of small caliber weapons emplacements.
