Fort Schwatka, HD Dutch Harbor

Three 26x60 foot concrete "igloo" type magazines were constructed at Fort Schwatka to store war reserve ammunition.

From Army documents, it appears that two magazines served Battery Const. #402, while the third was used for small caliber AA ammunition. it is probable that the southern most magazine was used for the AA, as a number of AA support buildings are located nearby.

Unfortunately, no photos of the southern magazine are available at present.
